WebOct 3, 2004 · Aluma-Hyde is not designed to be oven cured. It may seem cured at 90 degrees for two days, or oven cured for two hours, but it will not reach full hardness for a week. Acetone or Lock-Tite will disolve Aluma-Hyde II in no time flat, even when cured fully. If oil gets on it before it has cured for at least 24 hours, it likely will not cure. WebSimply put, don't be fooled by the color that comes right out of the can when the Aluma-hyde is still wet. The coating is an almost olive green when wet, but then dries to a proper dark parkerized color. Many people complain that the paint does not color match, but I can assure you that this is not the case.
