WebJan 10, 2024 · Cofilin is a member of actin-binding proteins expressed in all eukaryotes, regulating cytoskeleton dynamics so as to manipulate cell morphology, locomotion, migration, invasion, and cytokinesis,... WebMay 5, 2024 · Cofilins are evolutionary conserved proteins present in all Eukaryotic cells. Their primary function is dynamic reorganization of actin cytoskeleton. Two cofilin isoforms are known: cofilin 1, present in all studied non-muscle cells and in embryonic muscle cells, and cofilin 2, which dominates in mature skeletal and cardiac muscles.

Importantly, over-expression of cofilin-1 induced let-7 could be suppressed by enforced expression of SNAIL-1, suggesting that EMT related …
Cofilin is an actin-binding protein that regulates filament dynamics and depolymerization. The over-expression of cofilin is observed in various cancers, cofilin promotes cancer metastasis by regulating cytoskeletal reorganization, lamellipodium formation and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition.
