Eels low loss

WebEELS (electron energy loss spectrometry) is a technique used in TEM. It analyses the energy *lost* by the incoming fast electrons when they travel through the sample. While diffraction effects in the TEM are driven by the interaction of the fast electrons with the nucleus, in EELS, one deals with electro-electron interactions. WebAn oxygen vacancy in any one of the red sites will affect the energy loss spectrum from the pink central oxygen atom. The graph on the right shows a simulated energy loss spectrum for anatase with a 5% oxygen vacancy concentration (blue line) compared to anatase with no oxygen vacancies (red line).

WebElectron energy-loss spectroscopy (EELS) is an analytical technique that is based on inelastic scattering of fast electrons in a thin specimen. In a transmission electron microscope (TEM) it can provide structural and chemical information about a specimen, even down to atomic resolution. WebAn EELS spectrum. A typical energy loss spectrum includes several regions. The first peak, the most intense for a very thin specimen, occurs at 0 eV loss (equal to the primary beam energy) and is therefore called the …
